Police in Primorye struggling to improve road safety

The implementation of the regional target program "Improving road safety in Primorsky Krai" led to the number of road accidents in Primorsky Krai sinking from 4,800 to 3,700.

The program provided for distributing retro-reflectors between more than 35 thousand pre-school children and lower grade pupils in Primorsky Krai.

One of the most important activities of the road police is to promote the correct behaviour and to establish an efficient system of interaction between the road users. Over the past year, the road and traffic police of Primorsky Krai conducted the wide-ranging actions "Caution - Children!", "Caution - Pedestrian!", "Polite Driver", and "Zebra".

In addition, the road police of Russia's UMVD for Primorsky Krai received 14 specialized vehicles equipped with special controls and crime detection means and 4 sets for the video recording of the traffic rules violations.

Policemen in Primorye believe that the measures taken in the region in terms of technical equipment, the promotion of the correct behavior and the organization of an efficient system of interaction between road users contribute to the public and road safety reducing child injuries on the roads.
