Joint efforts in addressing child safety issues in Yaroslavl Oblast

The Department of Information and Public Relations of Russia's UMVD for Yaroslavl Oblast constantly informs citizens on how to avoid becoming a victim of crime, and provides preventive tips.

Recently, the UMVD published at its website the information on how to teach the children safety rules.

Shortly after the publication of these tips, resident of Yaroslavl Alexei Dadajanov contacted the UMVD Press Service. He expressed concern about the child safety and offered to issue a leaflet with advice for parents at his own expense.

Soon, the safety conscious resident of Yaroslavl brought three thousand copies of leaflets to the Oblast's UMVD to be distributed through the juvenile inspectors. In addition, he decided to individually negotiate the hanging out of the leaflets on buses with the transport agencies.

Such cooperation between law enforcement officers and citizens in matters of crime prevention is a good example of partnership between the police and the community.
