The voluntary people's guards in the city of Severodvinsk will be working in a new way from this year on. The brand new uniform is already there, the headquarters uniting all people's guards of city will start its work in February. And now, the administration and members of city council passed a resolution on providing financial support to the police volunteers.
The work done by the voluntary people's guards will make a significant contribution to the protection of public order and crime prevention. Our common goal is to make Severodvinsk the safest, quietest and friendliest city.
Every day 6-4 people's guards go out to perform their duty. Together with the police, they patrol the streets and apprehend offenders. One of them has already been awarded a note of acknowledgement by Russia's Internal Affairs Department for the city of Severodvinsk for assistance in apprehending a criminal.
Alongside with the young men, girls go on duty as well, and they can sometimes give odds to their colleagues. For example, Catherine Tselovalnikova goes in for Thai boxing and wants to serve in the police in the future. For her, the work as a people's guard is a kind of training before the service.
Of course, patrolling means the additional responsibility for the people's guards. However, the law enforcement officers believe that it is essential to educate the future assistants and, possibly, future police officers. And the people's guards admit themselves that this work made them change for the better.
